Christopher,

The whole situation is absurd. One week ago
a group of Bosnian "Peacekeepers" destroyed
some train tracks in Montenegro, which is one
of the 2 republics of Yugoslavia. Then the
US had this absurd claim that the 3 guys who
were captured were "peacekeepers" and thus
could not be held under the Geneva Convention.
What next, peacekeeping cobra gunships making
peace with hellfire missles?

<<1. So much for no ground troops.

2. Do we know now what those three soldiers were doing?>>

1.) They are not ground troops, they are special forces on the ground to "light up" targets with lasers so that bombers above cloud cover can drop laser guided bombs "riding" the ground-targeted laser to its objective. They are not combat troops.

2.) Special forces recon units dont drive around on highways in Humvees.
