Mr. John Huguet reports:
The board of directors is releasing a resource estimate prepared by
its chief geologist, Victor Jaramillo, for the "open pit" area of the Santa Rosa project in southeastern Peru. All resources currently are categorized as "inferred".

Au Ag
Type Tonnes g/t g/t

Oxides 909,100 2.83 44.73

Mixed 445,300 3.74 75.40

Ripios 382,700 2.06 34.66

Sulphides 443,000 2.77 32.27

TOTAL 2,180,100 2.87 46.69
In March 1999, the company requested Mr. Jaramillo, to review all
technical data and if warranted, to prepare a resource calculation for the Santa Rosa property. The calculations are based on the 143 reverse circulation (RC)drill holes completed on 50 metre by 25 metre grid. As can be seen from the above table, an important mixed zone exists between the oxides and the sulphides.
This holds significant promise for lower operating costs through the possibility of heap leaching and could have major implications on both the process route and capital costs estimates. A senior metallurgist has been retained to design the heap leach test programs to reflect the makeup of this resource estimate.
A field work program will be started this month to upgrade the quality of the Santa Rosa technical database and geological interpretation. This program will also specifically address the significance to be placed upon a number of near surface high-grade values which occur along the length of the mineralized zone.

RCR 69 14 24 10 30.18 64.9

RCR 77 46 52 6 11.83 142.2
The 10,840-hectare Santa Rosa property has excellent geological
potential for locating additional mineralization similar to that found in the open pit area. The field program referred to above will include geological and structural mapping, relogging of old diamond core and selected RC chips on 15 to 20 of the 143 holes. In particular, geological prospecting and sampling of six areas with
similar geology to the open pit area will be carried out. Some of the
new areas show strong anomalous induced polarization results which may indicate disseminated or semi-massive mineralization.
The open pit area (400 by 250 metres) is only one of a number of induced polarization anomalies, as seen by the following chart.

Lindsay Bottomer has been retained by the board to advise, audit and
verify the proposed Santa Rosa field program and evaluate all available technical data.
The Santa Rosa property is in southeastern Peru, approximately 550
kilometres southeast of Lima at an elevation of 3,900 metres above sea level. The property has an area of 10,840 hectares comprising 16 mining concessions. El Misti Gold holds a 100 per cent interest in the project through its wholly owned Peruvian subsidiary El Misti Gold S.A.
