Tuesday April 13 1:13 PM ET Compaq Unveils Services Strategy NEW YORK (Reuters) - Personal computer maker Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ - news), facing a tough environment in the corporate PC market, Tuesday unveiled a strategy to use its army of service personnel to win new corporate business. Under the strategy, the Houston company will enhance its 27,000-strong services unit in an effort to beat rival computer makers on the support they offer corporate customers. Compaq's focus on services comes as the price of hardware falls and work to set up and maintain computer networks offers high profits.
