When it was RRSP season they said the same thing. When I spoke to a representative his response was," when you have such volumes going through on a few stocks, you can't expect everyone to get through." The guy I spoke to was Peter Something or another. Another problem is that these guys don't even execute trades on time when you do it through the internet. Also, if 6,000 dollars of someone else money shows up in my account, I am sure it can go the other way too. The scary part about that is that it is not even close to Y2K time yet and already they are having these kinds of problems, imagine what kinds of volume will go through them on that day. How will they cope with it if they can't even get their act together now? The worst part about it is that they don't even acknowledge their mistakes. They charged me over $800 in commissions on two trades that caused me losses because they didn't occur in time. After that they have the nerve to say nothing went wrong but they will offer me $200 in compensation. I kid you not. If any of this stuff was a lie I would surely be hauled into court for libel. My advice...run to next brokerage house as soon as possible. CIBC has a world famous brokerage as does TD. Royal as you know is a top notch firm and BM is not something which I know about. CTSecurities sucks.
