Yes, but this is not so easy to determine for an operating subsidiary or division. A lot of the apparent success or failure depends on allocation of costs. There are a lot of subjective issues involved. I'm not up on cost accounting, but I can tell you that it easy easy to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear when you are a cost accountant. Of course, when you create a silk purse here another division becomes a sow's ear.
