Intel .57 vs .55, it's revenue 18% yr to yr growth while eps growth was 58% or so. Sequentially, both rev and eps declined due to seasonal factors. Gross margins about 59%. Most important, they expect flat to slightly down rev in 2nd qtr on seasonal issues and expect margins to remain in 58% range +- a few points. It's a decent report. I think it will provide a decent backdrop for Apple's report. My only concern is Apple's revenue growth but we'll see tomorrow. Still, the market currently distrusts the PC sector and Apple is still considered a weak sister so even with a good report we may not see all that much stock appreciation for a while. Rich

<<I'm buying a new Tangerine 333Mhz just as soon as they're available on the 'Net.>>

You know, maybe there is something to the theory that people are buying iMacs on looks rather than speed as the Wintel 450 Mhz users are chiming.

Would you buy a new Beige Mustang or a a sporty red Mustang convertible?

Also, I think Apple cornered the market on the color Bondi Blue with focus groups. It was proably determined that was the most likely color to market a computer in.

Now when other boxmakers try to copy Apple with colored computers what are they going to start off with? Blue? Everyone will say they are blatently copying the iMac!

If Compaq starts of with a Compaq RED machine (which follows their corporate color scheme) I think they will be met with poor sales. There's only a small segment daring enough to buy something red.

IBM - BLUE PCs - Looks like their trying to make iMacs. Otherwise a good color.

Gateway - GREEN PCs - might have some potential.

Dell - YELLOW PCs - Piss poor! Lemon!

Who would dare tangerine?

Yes, Apple got all the good colors before anybody had they idea. And if they try, they will be classed as 'also rans".
