Porc,

>>For the 36th time, I refuse to allow you to exhaust me by scoring
"unanswerable" points in private, that no one could reasonably expect to
go unanswered. It takes me a minimum of hours, but more typically days
and even weeks, to think through what I want to write. This puts me at
an insurmountable disadvantage versus an intellectual adversary that
pours out a few hundred words in 15 minutes, and 1500 words in a couple of hours<<

Just so there aren't bad feelings. I am not scoring points and I am not your intellectual adversary or anything of the sort. That is an internal feeling of yours and not mine. I learn more from some of the people on these boards than I offer in return and I disagree with some of them more than I do with you. However, I never have conflicts with them. I am just sharing stuff on SI I believe to be valuable to investors based on my own work, observations of others, and observations of how things work. "It is very important to me that those ideas I express be clear though." Otherwise why post? Perhaps your view of me as an adversary or as trying to score points is what prevents you from also appreciating the potential value in some of these controversial issues and seemingly causes you to misunderstand them in your responses to my posts when making your own points. Your posts then interfere with my one simple desire for my own contributions to being clear.

Unlike what you think, my efforts at clarity are draining to me to. That's why I try to avoid public discussion with you. I'm afraid to say anything in this thread because it will almost certainly require more effort than I want to give in order to accomplish the simple goal of an clear understanding.

I can't help but think you are not listening, just trying to prove your point of view to an audience and someone who has already thought about both sides of these investment issues and chosen a different one than yourself, for better or worse.

Good luck investing in the future. We will have to agree to disagree, and learn from others . WC

As a lurker I am curious why you allow someone to "pull your chain".
Just ignore the glove!

True JMO, but, at my advanced age (70) there are real world issues to learn.
