Schlumberger Ships Integrated Test Cell Featuring RDX Series Tester and Delta Castle Handler for High Volume RDRAM Device Production Test

SAN JOSE, CALIF. (April 13) BUSINESS WIRE -April 13, 1999--Schlumberger
Automated Test Equipment (ATE) today announced that it has shipped an
integrated test cell featuring its RDX(tm) series test system and a
Delta Design Castle Mx32 handler to one of the world's largest memory
manufacturers. Delta Design is a unit of Cohu Semiconductor Equipment
Group.

The RDX series test cell will be used for high volume production
testing of RDRAM(R) devices. It was designed and integrated by
Schlumberger Advanced Business Engineering Resources (SABER(sm)), which
provides innovative business and engineering services to help
semiconductor manufacturers increase productivity. The test cell is
capable of testing 8 RDRAM devices in parallel at production speeds up
to 1 Gb/s data rate with +/-50 pico second edge placement accuracy
guaranteed at device under test (DUT).

"The integration of this new test cell is indicative of our commitment
to continue developing configurable test solutions that meet our
customers' specific needs as they transition to RDRAM technology,"
stated Jackie Tubis, president, Schlumberger ATE. "This test cell is
designed to provide our customer with the best performance possible for
high volume production testing of RDRAM devices."

"We are pleased that Schlumberger has chosen to use the Delta Castle
handler in this test cell solution," stated Jim Donahue, president,
Cohu Semiconductor Equipment Company. "Today's memory manufacturers
face significant challenges moving to RDRAM production; and integrated
solutions like the RDX test cell are key to quickly ramping this new
technology." Leading Solutions for RDRAM Device Test

With the introduction of RDX2200 series in early March, Schlumberger
has emerged as the only company capable of producing, shipping and
supporting a fully compatible series of RDRAM test systems for design
validation through volume production. Designed to significantly shrink
RDRAM manufacturers' time-to-volume and dramatically increase yields,
the new Schlumberger RDX2200 series is flexible enough to accommodate
evolving test methodologies, and is completely identical in tester
operation, from design validation through production testing, greatly
simplifying and the RDRAM development cycle.

The RDX2200 series is the only test system that currently meets
Rambus(R) specifications for speed and accuracy across multiple sites.
It slashes months off the development cycle, offers the industry's only
management and technology services to expedite ramp-up, and provides a
global support infrastructure with world-class manufacturing and
technology centers located close to RDRAM customers. About Delta

Todays volume was paltry. I think Rosemary had the right idea. I've been away from my computer until after the market closed, may have to pay more in the a.m.
