John, all you need to do is look at the INTC profile:

techstocks.com

Which clearly shows the trend of revenues in 1998 for Q2 of flat
to slightly down.

I agree with you 100%, if INTC beat the number and #1 is not doing well, #2 Dell must be kicking butt, However, I shave to point out that CPQ was not far off on their revenue side it is there bottom line that is taking the pipe. They are getting rid of all the obsolete inventory now that the PIII is out. Dell doesn't have this problem, Dell turns on a dime with six days of inventory.
