No punt intended. I just want to voice another opinion that maybe all this market timing may not work from time to time. The market has changed drastically since the event of internet trading. Instead of having 1000 big boys playing with your million dollar mutual funds, now we have few millions traders flipping in and out their favorite stocks daily. Maybe all the old indicators are still working but the data are now so distorted that we should at least question the validity of the system. Pick, let's say, A/D line. 40% of stocks on NYSE are financials and they move with the bonds, so when you look at A/D breath, do you extract all the noise from the bonds? Like RUT, someone mentions now that since it includes all the small internet stocks, its breakout is questionable!

I used to follow all kinds of market timing systems. They no longer work for me. I do better when I know about the companies I'm buying and all I need to know about the market is its sentiment. That's why I get more bullish as we move higher, because people are still buying puts today!
