chuzz, before accepting estimates as gospel, let's review some recent history. the s&p was expected to grow eps about 18% in 1998. now, how much did they actually grow and what was the difference between reality and estimates?

using the estimates as gospel, your statement is true. i think that is a mistake, however, so be it. ajc's calculations were not complex. she simply compared multiples and she did so incorrectly. at the time of her pronouncement, dell's eps were less b/c last q wasn't reported, if i remember correctly.
