<MOT came in at .28 vs .24. Had bullish comments for next qtr. Damn company didn't release a PR on it's site yet. >

Screw Motorola! When Apple starts cranking out a zillion iMacs and consumer portables with OSX on Intel, AMD, Cyrix, Xerox T9, or Zooton Grooton M36 processors, they'll be sorry they didn't push the PowerPC when they had the chance.

Claris-based cellphones, toasters, and PDAs!

A white plastic Mr. Network box in every home running easy to maintain OSX in flash ROM!

Hahahahahahah!

Not a bad AAPL earnings prelude - Mot's Chips added to profits

" And while Compaq has struggled to maintain a balance
between selling direct to customers and selling through
resellers, Apple has "done the best job of any of the PC
companies in taking pages out of Dell's playbook and applying
it to their company," he said.

Longer-term issues for Apple may have also kept the stock back from its 52-week high of 47.3125 reached in January.

Questions about inventory management have lurked in the background for some analysts since January's introduction of the multi-colored iMacs .
After last quarter's earnings were posted, some analysts
downgraded Apple because of this very issue.

Overall, the consensus now is a "hold" rating on the stock, according to First Call. "

With 70% of AAPL's stock in 6 clever pockets , a 10 % short position that can only hope that S. Jobs quits , this baby could ZOOM on good revenues followed by hot products (NAB/application servers).

PS: Rich - looks like MOT's chips had a good quarter:

" ''Operating results reflect increasing market share in digital wireless telephones, stemming from the success of new products, and continuing improvements in the semiconductor business, which
returned to profitability,'' Robert Growney, president and chief operating officer, said in a statement.

The semiconductor unit is the second most important driver of Motorola's revenues, behind wireless phones. The chip unit posted a first-quarter operating profit of $47 million, compared with last year's operating loss of $58 million.

Sales in the semiconductor segment rose 4 percent to $1.9 billion while those in personal communications -- including the key wireless phone business -- rose 8 percent to $2.6 bill "
