It may look like MCF has the edge right now, but in my opinion IWM will reach $3 first.

Judging by todays volume and profit-taking for MCF, it is quite apparent that the stock is a favorite of the day-traders. MCF traded about 25% of its float today -- if that kind of volume can't push MCF over $3, I doubt that any news the company puts out (short of an announcement that they have applied for a NASDAQ listing) can get it to $3 near term.

On the other hand, one need only look at the volumes and percentage price increases for IWM in the last three or four days to see that this is a fairly tightly held stock (despite the antics of Canaccord) and that relatively small volume can move this stock.

Also, both companies are expected to issue financial results shortly. IWM will be announcing first quarter results April 28th. Meanwhile the market is expecting year-end results for MCF "any day now". The difference is that the market already knows what the MCF results will be and so those results are already "built in" to the current share price. It is my expectation that IWM, on the other hand, will be surprising a few people with their results.

Cheers!

Yesterday I said ...

"I doubt that any news the company puts out (short of an announcement that they have applied for a NASDAQ listing) can get it to $3 near term."

And todays market action just proves my point, in my opinion. Today's news release about MCF's deal with the National Bank is big, big news. But what did the stock do? It's down 5¢ from yesterday on significant volume.

Meanwhile IWM touched $1.94 today before closing at $1.85, a gain of 5¢. IWM is now only 50¢ behind MCF, and I'm convinced that IWM will close on the "sunny side" of $2 tomorrow. Look at the volume for IWM today -- that's the most in a single day since March 3rd. Tomorrow should be quite a day.

Still very very long on both! It should be an interesting race. Good luck to all.
