'The Net's finished spring training'

That's the contention of America Online Inc.'s Ted Leonsis, who delivered the opening keynote address here Tuesday at the Association of Information and Image Management show.

Leonsis, group president of interactive properties at AOL (NYSE:AOL), addressed an auditorium packed with people eager to hear from an executive with one of the most talked about companies in the world.
He launched directly into a defense of his theory, outlining three main reasons why the Internet will grow beyond anyone's expectations in the next few years.

The big three? Consumers, e-commerce and small businesses.
"Each generation has its own thing," he said. "The Internet is today's generation's."
