Jeff,

You clearly have a first amendment issue with this. As Tom C pointed out, I think it was Tom, TM the two names and advertise them as a site that only makes fun, parody, of other companies. The only stumbeling block you may have is in TM " Bidness Wire". From experience I can say that the similarity in the two names may cause you NOT to get the TM. But, do a search and see if Business Wire has Trade Marked the name. If not, there mistake.

Your attorney's can do the search. If not, there was a link, I can't find it now that takes you right to the trademark sight. Searching it there may also help you. Wouldn't it be histerical if you got BusinessWire's name trademarked. You could make some good money off that one.

This brings up an interesting point: does BW care that their PRs are plastered all over SI?

Not only all over SI: all over company websites. It's a normal procedure. BizWire in fact disclaims responsibility for content of the material it disseminates; how can it at the same time claim "authorship"?

Idiots.
