Excite (XCIT), CMGI (CMGI), DoubleClick (DCLK), and Net.Bank
(NTBK), are among the companies scheduled to participate in a
day-long streaming audio Webcast produced by Vcall Wednesday. The
12-hour event, beginning at 8:00 a.m. eastern, is accessible at
vcall.com. "We're calling it 'VcallApolooza' because
it's for everyone with a modem and a mouse, and we expect a huge
turnout," said Vcall CEO David Bauman. Broadcast.com (BCST) will
provide the audio streaming. Vcall founder Joe Besecker told
CBS.MarketWatch.com he's organized an event which will include
one-on-one interviews with executives from 40 Internet-related
companies, plus market analysts and portfolio managers. Besecker,
also the operator of investment research firm Emerald Asset
Management, said "Our goal is to level the playing field for the
individual investor, by giving access to top-level executives,
which the small guy can't get." He said the interviews and
presentations will be archived for on-demand access. (Editor's
note: CBS.MarketWatch.com (MKTW) chief executive officer Larry
Kramer is scheduled to participate in the Vcall program.)
