TLC,
I bet that SI would make it a judgement call in cOUSIN SHORTY's case. I hear that internet geeks taste a lot like cheetos and cOUSIN SHORTY is a giant flying alien reptile after all.

Fred hasn't responded to my messages yet:-(

TLC,

There are several well know SI posters who have pay sites, I'm sure you're aware of some of them.

It seems like it's OK for them to mention their sites, in the course of other discussions, but when someone joins SI just to tout their site they get the boot. Which seems to leave a gray area in between. Eh?

So SI allows more leeway to those who actively contribute. COusin Shorty definitely should be in the contributors category. ( AKA - draws eyeballs )

I'm not making a value judgement here, just babbling about what I've observed.

As well as avoiding finishing my taxes. Big time procrastination here.

Which brings up a question. Let's say cOUSIN SHORTY starts a pay site. (Work
with me, it's hypothetical) What is the rule? Can he start a thread and hype his pay
site? Can he start two threads?

sI AdmIn rItEs:

A link can be provided in his profile. He most certainly cannot start a thread to hype his site. He can start as many threads as he likes, so long as none are hyping his site and all are different topics.

An occasional mention is acceptable in the course of other conversation. No administrative eyebrows are raised unless "occasional" becames "usually" or messages make no contribution other than hype for a site.

Regards,

SI Admin (Bob)
