Dallas, Texas, April 13, 1999 – ViewCast.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:VCST), a leading supplier
of components, systems, and turnkey solutions for video communications and Internet
video streaming, announced today that it will support Microsoft's new Windows Media
Technologies 4.0. The beta release of this software became available today.
ViewCast.com delivers the ViewCast™ Video Streaming system – the industry's first
turnkey solution for Microsoft Windows Media Technologies, the Opsrey™ -100 video
capture card -- the industry's de facto standard for video streaming and the Osprey™
-1000 codec card.

Microsoft Windows Media Technologies 4.0 enables high-quality Internet streaming and
consists of Windows Media Player, Windows Media Services and Windows Media Tools.
The new version offers several advancements including increased quality, better
performance and improved ease of use. ViewCast.com's Osprey-100 video capture card
has been widely used with earlier versions of Windows Media Technologies and is
ideally suited for the new 4.0 version of the Windows Media Encoder. It delivers up to 30
frames per second of high-quality video for the most demanding video streaming
applications and provides the quality and performance Windows Media Technologies
4.0 demands.

"We eagerly support Microsoft Windows Media Technologies, a solution that promises to
realize terrific acceptance in the exploding Internet streaming video market. The
combination of ViewCast.com's ViewCast streaming systems, Osprey video cards and
Microsoft Windows Media Technologies offer customers a high-quality, reliable, and
cost-effective Internet streaming solution," said Bill Jobe, Chairman and CEO of
ViewCast.com.

"ViewCast.com's products are a great complement to the Windows Media Technologies,"
said Will Poole, senior director of marketing and business development, Streaming
Media Division at Microsoft Corp. "We're pleased that ViewCast.com is taking advantage
of the new features in Windows Media Technologies 4.0 to offer improved solutions for
