St Ronnie didn't need any backing to send a handful of flyers to bomb the shit out of Kadafi's tent. At least Ronnie killed the dictator's family members and took him out of business. Think the Rapist has the balls to bomb Milo's bedroom? Yeah, right.

Virulently anti-war Communist members of Signor D'Alema's fragile centre-left coalition are demanding an immediate end to the bombing as the Nato campaign enters its fourth week with no end in sight and more allied warplanes arriving in Italy. Diplomats said that, if the alliance moved to a land offensive, the D'Alema coalition would collapse, placing Nato's continued use of Italian bases in question. Signor D'Alema survived a debate on Kosovo at the start of the conflict only by promising to "make all efforts to restore peace as swiftly as possible". So Ronbo's little Libyan raid was what year, Ish? 85, 86? And Lockerbie was what year, Ish? 88? And before Lockerbie, how many people were killed by Libyan terrorism, Ish? Hundreds? Aside from the fact that there was some feeling that Syria was probably more responsible for the Berlin bombing than Libya, anyway. And how many were killed by the "authoritarian" friends of the Reaganauts in Central America? Hundreds of thousands? But all of the above is Clinton's fault, somehow, I'm sure. Or, it's a historical dodge. As opposed to the locally "right" version of history, where Reagan's a saint and the decline of Western Civilization is all Clinton's fault, too.
