Obewon, It's too late for me to go do the research, but a large part of the 'PORK' in the military budget is the top-heavy service. We have not only more Flag Officers than in WWII, but SEVERAL TIMES as many. And if you look at their pay rates, then you can see the bloat, because it impacts not only active but retired pay allocations as well. Note, I am not saying that we don't need generals, or that they shouldn't get paid well. I AM saying that we have several times as many as we need, and that costs a LOT of $$$. JMHO, jbn3
