FG,
I suspect TA Traders took their profits during the "pop" to almost 5 today, and are not as interested in subsequent runs because they become less predictable. Typically when momentum is interrupted by a major profit-taking sell off (as it was today), "investors" & day traders become more cautious and don't jump on the train with more buying, because they don't want to get burned holding shares that are suddenly worth less than when they purchased them just a few hours earlier. Subsequent runs are also more influenced by many unknowns including "general market sentiment", which we have seen recently, can vary drastically from day to day (minute to minute). If the fundamentals of the stock are there and there are no major "market manipulators" playing their games, we should see the stock gradually achieve it's potential and move upward to new highs. Hopefully this is what will happen to XNET & many other of the Asian Achievers (not as catchy as Pacific Princess) that you follow through your thread.
My opinion only,
Frank

DELL SAILS INTO SHANGHAI MARKET

ASIAINFO - April 14, 1999 06:54

SHANGHAI, April 14, AsiaPort - Dell, a computer company in the United States, is elbowing its Dimension desktop line designed for small businesses and families into the Shanghai market. The consumer desktop segment in China grew by 75 percent last year and the growth rate will reach 52 percent this year. Shanghai is a key part of its market in China, that is witnessing growing sales of computers. Many local families have started to use computers but the market is still undeveloped, insiders said. To meet the increasing needs, Dell has set up factory in Xiamen, Fujian Province, to manufacture computers.

Francois, I am a daytrader..I live for the pop in momentum...Will return when she gets back to 6 1/2...Give me a post when she nears that area again, and I will give you a good read on it...

P.S. to answer your question, the momentum usually dissipates soon after the secondary pop...I don't hang around for that...

Francois, looks like I was right about the TA traders getting in & out quickly, as evidenced by my old post;
Message 8900521
I suspect we'll have to be patient. However, from a TA standpoint stocks like XNET that have great potential, tend to follow the pattern of correction with subsequent break out to new highs (ALA EBAY)... hence TA TRADER's comment to alert him when we get close to $6.5 again. I would suspect the next support level for upward movement will be in the $3-3.5 range.
