H-P's Platt Says Cheap PCs Drive Demand For Servers

"Hewlett-Packard Co. (HWP) Chief Executive Officer Lewis Platt said his company does benefit from rapidly falling personal-computer prices: they boost demand for larger computers...

...But every PC sale ultimately means one more person is using the Internet. That will drive demand for servers, like the N-Class machines Platt was touting in New York Tuesday..."

Since Dell has set its sights on the server market, it may have the potential to turn the narrowing margins of the PC business into an advantage, if H-P's CEO is correct.

Good morning,Mohan

Don't have the exact quote, but on the front page of today's IBD,HWP's CEO Platt says he thinks dogpaq's problem is that Dell is taking corporate customers away from them!Well,HELLOoooO!Thought it was great of someone of his stature being so specific.Perhaps he is tired of BLOWhardt 5er blaming everyone and everything else too. When Michael came up a little short in Feb. he blamed themselves and said they would just do better.Unfortunately,we'll have to endure more of 5er's passing of the buck today.
