Hi,

I'm brand new here. In view of the discounted price, I've decided to buy CPQ as a core (i.e. long term) holding. I see this as similar to IBM of several years ago, and the Intel FDIV flaw a couple of years ago (anybody remember that!). As soon as CPQ gets its dodo together, its off to the races, IMHO.

When you look at CPQ's earnings remember the DEC acquisition was accounted for using the Purchase Method and not the Pooling of Interests Method - which is unusually conservative in the technology world. I wonder if CPQ stock repurchases prevented pooling accounting? Comments?

but unless you are shorting, what is the point of beating this particular dead horse?

Let them whip the flesh off this horse, they are rightfully frustrated. BTW, I bought CPQ yesterday and will buy some more if there is a two point drop. This is the Market.

Regards,
