Henry: I would suspect, looking at the rapidly expanding volume on ISLD, that Datek is just can't ramp up as fast as trading activity is expanding..especially during peak periods. A key point in my post is that it would appear to be hazardous to your wealth to trade super-volatile stocks with the system until the capacity is up to speed.
One rating system I looked at astro.lsa.umich.edu
is now warning readers to be cautious due to recent complaints.
I would think it would behoove Datek to install a "Caution light" on their trading screens to indicate when the systems are nearing capacity and thus warn traders that trading may be risky. Other steps might include instant feed back buttons so traders can alert systems people when problems arise..this could be tied into the above.
