Few years ago I spent a small fortune buying any book discussing investing/daytrading. Since that time publishers have signed anyone willing to write about the subject. I saw a book last weekend written by a 24-year-old “Daytraders survival" something another. Didn't find it all that resourceful.

Personally I think about 90% of these so called daytraders have mastered their fortunes due to a historic bull market. How they fair when the market turns remains to be seen. I understand less than 8% of full time daytraders make it past the first year before having to return to work. (This excludes soes shops). From my observation I think the percentage is much lower.

Books, I have ran across one book worth picking up. It's more of a “how it works” than “how do” book but the price is reasonable and reading it does shed light in particular areas that need attention.

The Electronic Day Trader by Marc Friedfertig/George West
AMZN has it for $24.47. 208 pages

Other than that most other books I take a liking to are more on the technical aspects of trading and I'm sure most would find boring.

On Datek? Has their service improved any? I quit them in early 98' after a terrible experience with MSPG. I guess you get what you pay for.

Good luck
