Mr. Glaser was on at 4:50 pm EDT.

He was asked about Microsoft's new player, and could not comment because he hadn't seen or heard it yet.

But he did say that IBM has agreements with the five biggest music studios in the U.S., which gives IBM, RealNetworks and MP3 -- "The newest member of the RealNetworks family" -- a great opportunity.

He emphasized Real's 85 percent market share at the start, to boot.

He is not the kind of guy who is going to sit around waiting for the comp to make a move. Especially the way he feels about MSFT, I think it is safe to say.

He was sharp, made the most of the minute or two they gave him. Good, precise interview by Tyler M. and Sue Herrera.

Funny -- he was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and glasses. Not the usual CEO look.
