re: PAIR, I saw the pick to short it at $9
on the "pick thread" and one minute later,
he changed his mind ........ bear trap....

Split second decisions are a waste of time
when posting messages cause most people will
get lagged out...... doesn't make sense to me...
only makes sense if you are trading in real time
for yourself.......

<NTBK>

NTBK is no longer a bank like AMZN is no longer a media store -- they are internet companies first and foremost. You can't use outdated and irrelevant measures like P/B, P/E, etc. No one gives a damn. And heaven forbid if you use such numbers to tell you when to short a stock. The "King Kong vs. Bambi" short flick comes to mind.

I think NTBK's concept is cool but there are no competitive advantages or barriers to entry. NTBK is doomed to be in an industry where margins are still razor thin because any monkey can open up a bank on the internet, and the monkeys most likely to do so are 800lb gorillas like Citigroup, BankAmerica, etc.

The minimal barrier to entry for AMZN is that they have an excellent site with a community atmosphere where customers write reviews and read the reviews of others before they buy. The search engine is pretty nice as well. Cash is cash -- what can NTBK possibly do to make their cash more special? And, as I said before, I just read AMZN's reviews and go buy from buy.com. It must piss AMZN off to no ends, but am I anymore an a**hole than the guy who walks into BKS or BGP, reads a bunch of stuff, and then goes home and buys from AMZN?
