<<I am old enough to have witnessed some of the excesses committed by the Left in its opposition to the Vietnam War.>>

I am old enough to have been part of it. I am a recovering lefty. I didn't say anything about doing anything that is unlawful. You skirted the issues and questions I raise when making a comparison to the people of Germany and the People of the US who "went along." What are you afraid of? The fact is when people begin to apologize for a representative government because they like the perks, they have essentially sold out, and have no basis in the future to stand on principle. Johannes has a good point here in regards to what would be hypocritical of people who allow clinton to get away with all of the stuff he has and then in the future hold another politician accountable to the same standard. I don't think that will happen. Once people have sold out, they have emotionally sacraficed their responsibility to principle. Ask any clintonite to tell you where they stand on principle and how they percieve their responsibility to standards. You will receive the usual rhetoric about being an RRW nut. Ar ar argh... Just practicing my pirate accent in case I decide to join you all.
