Hardware site CPU Review has published a set of benchmarks which claims that the Linux kernel compiles 16 per cent faster on an AMD processor than an Intel chip.

It seems that a lot of integer tasks run faster on a K6. The K6-2 350 Win 95 bug appeared to be due the fact that the K6-2 ran a timing loop faster than a PII, and Microsoft wasn't prepared to deal with it.
