Yes, be sure to let us know about the Celeron 400s. What is
the pin configuration? Socket 370? Slot 1? Is there a slot 2
Celeron (haven't kept track, but with everything on the die,
what the heck you need a second card for?).

Are they, now? I hadn't heard that. Hadn't heard either way.

Do you have any direct
comparison between drive noise levels? I have no complaints about
Maxtors, but I'm always looking for quiet. Still, the
loudest thing in my room is a cpu fan! (Dual P-Pro cooler
from PC Power and Cooling. Fault tolerant, but too noisy<g>.
I'm probably gonna demote that machine to domain controller
in the basement <gg>.)

Mowa,

I have the exact opposite problem. never had a problem booting CD's with adaptec. can't get my mylex card to boot an NT CD.
