Question about fiber vs fixed wireless:

I am aware that capital costs for fiber installation make it uneconomic in a lot of areas compared with fixed wireless. An analyst mentioned the other day that the cost to light the fiber is almost half the capital cost. I never got the chance to ask him to elaborate.

Is this true? Does it really cost a bundle to activate a thread of fiber? And if it does, could you give me a primer as to why?
