The process will still require the 'cable guy' to run the cable and check the 'signal'. Granted, the software and installation instructions should be improved to the point that Joe Blow can do the installation without the 'tech guy'. My experience was that the modem was a small part of the installation process.

BTW, being the cheapo that I am, I did the 'tech guy' part of the installation myself. With the proper directions it should have been a snap, I ended up having the the pleasure of talking to Tech Support. It took me a little while, but I got it working despite their help.

My point is, this will never be as easy as installing the the AOL crap, but should be made as easy as connecting cable to your TV.
