I have an online store hiosilver.com and I am paying CYCH $40/month. When I went to my bank, Wells Fargo, and said I wanted to be able to accept plastic on-line, they said, "Oh, you'll need a merchant account and Cybercash to clear the transactions." So, I don't know about these other solutions, but CYCH is already collecting monthly fees from people who want to accept credit cards directly over the net.

WFB told me that they were working on their own competing system, but that CYCH has the best. I also investigated another competing service (don't remember the name) through and found that it was not as strong as CYCH with respect to on-line verification. Basically, what CYCH does is verify the transaction and then post it to my merchant acct.

Bottom line: The article makes it sound as if CYCH has all of its eggs in one bucket, but I don't think that this is the case. Anyone that I am paying $40/month and has lots of other customers doing the same will eventually make money. With the growth of ecommerce, I think that this thinly capitalized co. has a lot of upside potential.
