<<My recollection is that SUF's average historical daily trading volume is in the 20K-40K range , with depth on both sides at any given time rarely aggregating 20K.>>

Over the past year, average daily volume has been 71,000 shares. So I'd say SUF is rather liquid.

There is no real threshold that makes the cut between a stock that has liquidity and one that does'nt. But if I had to give a number, I 'd say that a stock with a float smaller than 5 millions shares or an average (computed over a minimum 250 days) daily volume smaller than 20,000 shares is illiquid.

I could add that liquidity depends on who the players all. The small player who buys $500-$1000 at a time will tell you that all stocks are liquid. The big guys who run $100K at atime will tell you that SUF is not very liquid.

IMVHO, there is no universal definition for liquidity.
