SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 1999--Today at DemoMobile '99, Excite, Inc. (NASDAQ:XCIT) and Starfish Software Inc. demonstrated a pre-release of the Excite Planner, a free Internet-based organizer that will store critical calendars, contacts, tasks and memos.
Built on Starfish's TrueSync Server Technology, the Excite Planner will allow users to synchronize their information with a wide range of popular handheld devices and desktop organizers including 3Com Palm devices, Hewlett-Packard Windows CE devices, REX(TM), REX PRO(TM), the new Motorola StarTAC(R) Clip-On Organizer, Microsoft(R) Outlook(R), Lotus Organizer(R), Lotus Notes, ACT!(TM) Schedule+ and Sidekick(R). The Excite Planner will first be available in Q2 1999 on Excite's Web site at www.planner.excite.com, with enhanced features expected to be added later in the year.

The pre-release of the Excite Planner also showcased TrueSync for Excite, an application that will allow users to update their device(s) and desktop PIM of choice easily and instantaneously. Users will be able to simply download the free synchronization solution from the Starfish Web site (www.starfish.com) or from the Excite Planner Web site and set their device(s) and synchronization preferences. TrueSync for Excite features Starfish's Multi-Point Synchronization, which gives users the freedom to select from several handheld devices and PIMs to create their ideal solution. Through Multi-Point Synchronization, TrueSync for Excite users will be able to keep their devices, desktop organizers, and Web-based calendars in sync and up-to-date.
