Hi Edamo, just logged on and see that the markets seem to be doing their "usual thing"...not much of anything. See Intel down around 2 1/2 and Dell down 1/2. Although the two stocks seem to follow the changes in the indices.

I tried to send you a lengthy response to your posting on owning Cpq. Completed the message, hit the "submit" button and my system crashed. Ran out of resources. I said in that posting that I had bought DEC when it was trading around 18 and sold at 60+. Almost decided to let my shares convert to Cpq, but after giving it much thought, I decided to take my "chips" off the table.

I worked for one company and sold many peripherals to Cpq. Worked for another company and sold may peripherals to DEC. So, I got to know the companies quite well. Cpq was suffering from growing pains at the time, and they are once again suffering from growing pains with the take-over of Tandem and DEC. DEC was a great company in their hay day. However, they failed to make the transition from the mini computer to the pc's and workstations. Ken Olsen did a great job with the company, but just couldn't manage the changes when most needed. Palmer was just being Palmer when he became CEO. A flashy type of guy, but never got the company moving and the rest is now history. The Alpha Chip is great, but never was able to compete with Intel. I personally think the Alpha will fade away. JMO

Well, lets see how the trading day progresses...see the DOW is now up 45+. Can't see the Nas on CNBC...commercial time.
