G'day all - the beauty of the recent deals like Shasta and Cambrian are the built-in contract. The full amount is transacted when the management of the acquirees meet performance objectives. Shasta may not have revenues, but its potentials as a strategic internet plumbing facility probably worths a lot to NT, directly and indirectly.

best, Bosco

Neither did Cambrian when purchased. However, the momentum is building up big after NT acquired it. DWDM is taking off. NT's got channels and installed base. What they need is products that they can sell and build position in the Internet commerce age.

On the other hand, it's not like Shasta tried to sell but could realize any revenue. They have been focusing on building their products. So don't worry, be happy, fasten your seat belt, sit back and ride with NT :-)
