Re: "Can you blame AMD for keeping the K7s performance secret?
Would you let everyone know "how it's going" before the release version. This happened to Intel when Tom got some engineering samples that were slow relative to the release versions. "

Intel didn't boast that the PII would be the fastest processor in the universe and save the company from certain bankruptcy.

Jim, Re: Elmer is, just in case they aren't up to par. Yousef and Paul too. You wanna be like them? <G>

Even with the big <G>, I sense that you seem to be in a bad
mood today ^_^

Jim - Various responses

Can you blame AMD for keeping the K7s performance secret?
The AMD guy is saying that "the K7 is at 500MHz now". I'm taking that as a cue from AMD to lower expectations. You may be right, and they're only playing a game?

Do you care about the beta versions?

Jim, if they are going to release this thing in significant volume in June, they had better have some "better than beta" parts for validation and sampling at this point. One never knows with AMD. It is an adventure, I'll grant you that.

Elmer is, just in case they aren't up to par. Yousef and Paul too. You wanna be like them? <G>
Jim

I don't know quite how to respond to that one, to be honest. I don't have a problem with anybody on either the AMD or Intel board (Donny Brasco doesn't count). I certainly do agree with Elmer, Yousef, and Paul on most of the issues. If you must categorize my presence, you can put me with them. Doesn't bother me.
