Gross margins will be reduced to near zero for everyone. It will be great for the consumer, and companies will have to be super efficient to survive. There will be a place for personal service. The concept that everyone will be buying on line is just a fantasy spawned by people who spend too much time on line themselves. While shopping on the Internet has many benefits, it is unlikely to be the dominant commerce model. The States would lose too much sales tax revenue and would force the taxation issue.
