yes, i totally agree. the p.c. is now just a vehicle to get to the next generation of communication, etc... the internet. with all of the people using the internet now, and the rate it is growing, the p.c. is really worth nothing to a consumer but a couple hundred dollars. people are spending more and more money on the net, and personally i can not go one day without using it for at least 8 hours. and, i use everything it has to offer from auction sites, plane tickets, to business, and research. as far as i am concerned, the p.c. is dead for consumer and retail sectors.

Humbly report, TQ, most here agree when it comes to the box:

techstocks.com

So, for something completely different, here is what I'm humbly tinkin', right now:

Tomorrow the Vulcan marriage is a done deal.

Then?

Press to clarify what it means to Go2Net? ;-)

Then?

techstocks.com :-)

Then?

Roll-out of revamped SI/Stocksite?

Then?

Full-tilt Go2Net advertising?

Then?

Cheers,

Svejk

Trevor, funny you should mention the "free pc" concept.
Go2net board member Dennis Cline has just launched
DirectWeb to do just that.....access and pc for $x
depending on pc config. First launch city is Philly.
