Internet equipment companies in PLAY Here is something to watch. In todays Globe and Mail (April 14, 1999), Report On Business section, the paper reports that Nortel is continuing its aggressive acquisition of internet equipment companies. "Northern Telecom continued an aggressive expansion into the Internet equipment business yesterday with the acquisition of Shasta Networks for $340-million (U.S.). B1" Wi-LAN is an internet equipment company that owns the patents on technologies that provide the fastest internet access available today.
