MSFT, INTC are so controversial for earnings I would not consider them for more than a daytrade as far as earnings plays go. Of course I had MSFT for a few years but sold it off as well in November. The way I handle the earnings plays is like a teacher sets up her lesson plans. I did notice that Monday and Tuesday they were 'neglected' because of the preponderance of good watch list and momentum plays, but I always have the earnings plays tracked intraday with alerts, news, and 5-15 minute charts. There were only about 20-25 of them and I pushed the ones reporting this week to the top so it was even easier. I did miss PLCM's rise however but managed to get another 4 plays. NEON was the only one that was both an earnings play and momentum play although, PCLE, VRTS,SEBL and CREE were all picked up this morning. I was already in CREE last week but took a small profit and reentered the options this time. By the way it also helps that these are all 'repeaters' including RFMD. 3 and 4 quarters of repeated plays in: NEON,VRTS,SEBL,CREE and RFMD.
