I found the product to be unusable in that respect

Many "experts" have said that the computer to phone market won't take off until good quality microphones become available.

Steve,

Use Net2Phone Direct, and you don't have the Headset, Microphone Problem.

Using Net2Phone - just having a headset with a standard microphone makes a huge difference. I found that eliminating the person's replys from my PC Speakers took care of all the problems with the echo/feedback. Almost everyone can pick up a cheap headset for a Walkman or CD player that they can use.

Steve, there are many ways to use Net2phone but the most common with the best reception is phone to phone, not computer to phone. I am told the quality there is very close to a phone call routed over regular phone lines rather than the internet. Many people are not aware that you can use Net2phone for phone to phone conversations and that is actually the most common use. Regarding PC to phone calls, I am told a lot depends on the use of headphones and your soundcard.

I would suggest checking with Hawaii about improving phone quality from PC to phone--I have never tried it but I know there are a lot of variables.
