Things are smelling bad in Tech Land- Fm IQC.com
>> Technology and Earnings

Technology earnings are mixed, so far we have not seen earnings take a direction. Tuesday Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) reported better than expected while Compaq (NYSE: CPQ) is looking to report less than half of expected. While Compaq reporting a slow down in PC sales Hewlett Packard reports strong demand and sales for PC's. Analyst are looking for guidance from Dell Computer as to the demand for the PC's on high end as well as the low end. We expect the technology sector to continue to come under pressure. We will monitor the earnings releases and alert our subscribers and visitors to any meaningful developments.

Semiconductor Index
We pointed out last week that Semiconductor Index (Sox) challenging its 52-week high and the likelyhood of it breaking through the overhead resistance is very slim. Since our last update SOX has pulled back 40 points or 9.5%. Tuesday SOX closed at 379.7. we believe SOX is about to test an important support around 370. If it breaks through that support our next downside target is 350 - 352 area. We will follow up on this as the markets pullback. See Chart
