Re: LMDS wireless . . . been there, done that. Was told by Wavepath several months ago they had no (foreseeable) plans to roll out similar service in LA. Uniqueness of topography present economies of scale.

While establishing transmitters atop Santa Monica Mtns would make sense, particularly to the business community below, as far as my situation, just below the top near Muholland & Beverly Glen where transmitters of another sort already exist, I don't see a "guaranteed" line of site. It would be "iffy" at best.

I think I'll wait for my DSL.

They are using MMDS not LMDS and I believe 2 way MMDS to boot. LA is excellent MMDS topography with Pacbell nka Prime One
Tele TV transmitting from Mt. Wilson & Modjeska Peak for Orange
County. No data offering there yet.
