LoD and All, Intel Buy Rating...

Intel Corp (INTC)
Apr 14, 1999 9:23 ET
RESEARCH ALERT - Intel started as buy
NEW YORK, April 14 (Reuters) - Credit Suisse First Boston
said analyst Charlie Glavin started coverage of semiconductor
maker Intel Corp. Wednesday with a rating of buy.
-- In a research note, he set a 12-month price target of
$75 on the stock. Glavin set earnings-per-share estimates of
$2.32 and $2.64 for 1999 and 2000, respectively.
-- After markets closed Tuesday, Intel reported
first-quarter earnings a share of $0.57, above Wall Street
forecasts of $0.55. The company projected flat to declining
second-quarter revenues.
-- The company forecast "does not surprise us in light of
current PC (personal computer) seasonality/demand trends ...
and concerns over European weakness," Glavin wrote.
-- "Intel product segmentation and ramp of their 0.18
micron process should enable Intel to price new products
aggressively without a degradation in margins.
-- "If server business picks up, margins may even expand
further."
-- Intel shares closed Tuesday at 60-8/16.
