had a few folks call me....here's what I learned:

- most of the major organizations hit their cost targets.

- Services hit their numbers

- PC missed and that shortfall fell to the bottom line.

- big mix shift in the business

- integrating the three companies, CPQ DEC and Tandem from an
information systems perspective is going slowly...vital operating info not well
connected.

- lot of finger pointing...DEC screwed it up, CPQ's PC strategy wasn't
working before they acquired DEC, the acquisition masked it...none of these
folks on EP's staff have been involved with a merger of this magnitude.

- Rosen is on the warpath but is still backing EP. They thing EM will be
gone.

- people were shocked by the news but not surprised.

- going to be some more cost cutting.

- still think the business model is right.

- atmosphere around getting bad news to the top of the organization is not
good...don't want to hear it.

That's pretty much what I got out of listening to them.

Hang in, hang on....and keep diversifying
