The way to do it, and what I'm going to start doing. I have no fear of repercussions from links I've posted, but could be about reposting clearly copyrighted information.

I think there is even an uninforced SI rule that text from other sites should not be copied, but links given instead (maybe with a brief abstract of what the link contains).

The problem with posting just links is that (especially to Yahoo) they expire so fast they're worthless as an archive. That's the great thing about the boards--you can find articles several years old that otherwise would be lost.
