Here is the old announcement.There is no word about use of 36170 switch, so it has to be TDM oriented.
TDM is also manage by the same universal management system.
So we have the case, when customer is migrating from old world to new world.

KANATA, Ontario, February 20, 1998 -- Newbridge Networks today announced that it
has signed a US $32 million agreement with the Guangdong Post and Telecommunications
Authority (GPTA) for the supply of networking equipment for the expansion and upgrade of
the province's digital data network (DDN). The agreement builds upon a multi-million dollar
expansion announced in November of 1996.

"This contract is further evidence of the strong ties Newbridge Networks has forged in China
and throughout the Central Pacific region," explained Constantin Loudiadis, Executive Vice
President and General Manager, Asia and Pacific Region, Newbridge Networks. "We look
forward to continuing to work with Guangdong PTA in developing its network and delivering
a comprehensive range of services to its customers."

The network expansion and upgrade includes the initial deployment of frame relay services
based on the Newbridge platform. Network and service management will be provided by the
Siemens / Newbridge MainStreetXpress™ 48020 MultiNetwork Service Controller
(MNSC). The MNSC will enable GPTA to provide integrated service management of
MainStreetXpress 46020 Network Managers across multiple administrations operating in
urban networks in cities throughout Guangdong province.
