Talked to Rick Smith, Haas CEO. He purchased the Shell from Michael Smith on 11/98. He personally owns 81% (has 81M shares of 100M, restricted). Indicated Michael Smith and Associates own 11M restricted shares. Others have restricted shares as well. [Michael previously indicated that there were only 2.5M shares in the float].

Rick is a former Lumber futures trader and salesman in the far-east, he has a Forestry Major background, and has been acquiring/running the Venezuelen sawmill and timber tracts for the past 7 years.

HANX has no debt. Rick needed a corporate structure to acquire restricted government timber leases. He has access to 21K acres of pine nearby. (I thought he said 21M acres, but I'll leave at 21K until he confirms the #). Would like to get some funding to expand the mills. He getting more orders than he can fill.

HANX is NET'ing 41% on the lumber. Ships to Florida, Dominican Republic, Toronto, Canada (yes, he can cut/process/ship to Canada for less than they can cut locally, and make a profit at it), and recently to North Carolina.

We got cut off (he was on a river barge, out to look at timber tracts). Try to get him again tomorrow.
